Emerson CL-30GP3 Orange Cylinder Lock Kit

Emerson's CL-30 cylinder locks will work on most cylinders that lift anything on a refuse truck. It works on tailgates; some roll off and body lift cylinders. This is a complete compact package on wheels that can be moved anywhere in the shop and occupies less space than a single tailgate stand. Space required is 25" wide and 35 1/2" long.

Although this concept is being used in the heavy equipment industry, their device is a lock that is permanently fastened to the equipment. It is lowered into place when they want to use it. The length if the lock is fixed and the cylinder rod only has one position that it can be locked into due to the length of the lock.

Instructions on the use of the CL-30 Safety Locks:

1. There are three groups of Cylinder Locks. Group 1 is painted yellow, Group II is painted white and Group III is painted orange.
2. Group I [Yellow] will fit four different diameter cylinder rods. 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2" and 2-1/4". There are four safety pin holes in the yellow cylinder locks. Always use the safety pin hold that will hold the lock tightest to the cylinder rod. For instance, the top safety pin hold (closest to the handle) is to be used for the 1-1/2" cylinder rod and the bottom safety pin hole for a 2-1/4" rod.
3. Group II [White] will fit five different diameter cylinder rods: 2-1/2", 2-3/4", 3", 3-1/4" and 3-1/2". There are 5 safety pin holes in the white cylinder locks. Use the safety pin holes the same way as discussed in Step 2
4. Group III [Orange] will fit five different diameter cylinder rods: 3-3/4", 4", 4-1/4", 4-1/2" and 4-3/4". See instructions on Step 2 for use.
5. WARNING | Always make sure the cylinder lock is as tight as possible to the cylinder rod by using the appropriate safety pin hole. Always us teh cylinder locks in PAIRS (ON BOTH SIDES OF THE UNIT). Do not use on telescoping cylinders.
6. Our cylinder locks are the only ones that are not fastened to the vehicle. You stack the cylinder locks end to end, to cover the maximum amount of exposed hydraulic cylinder rod.
7. If the cylinder flange is against the hydraulic fitting, rotate the cylinder lock so that it will clear the hydraulic fitting.
8. The CL-30 Standard Unit includes the car with 10 GROUP | YELLOW cylinder locks, 6 GROUP II WHITE cylinder locks and 10 GROUP III ORANGE cylinder locks. Each lock has an attached saftey pin.
9. The Cylinder Locks have been tested at 62,500 lbs. by the Central Testing Laboratories located in Orlando, FL.
